Itinerary

Day 1: Kruger National Park (D)
Clients depart Hazyview by 12h30 (allowing clients to connect on the Johannesburg - Hazyview Shuttle if necessary) and travel through the Kruger National Park via Paul Kruger Gate and Skukuza to Satara. We make a short stop at Skukuza Restcamp to buy drinks and snacks (own account). We head north, game viewing en-route to your camp, arriving at around 17h00. We use camps such as Satara, Letaba or Olifants in the northern part of the Kruger. Accommodation is in a 4-bedroomed house with lounge and kitchen. All rooms are en-suite. Your chef will prepare dinner at around 19h00.

Day 2: Kruger National Park (B/D)
An early morning wake-up with coffee or tea and homemade rusks before departing for the morning open vehicle safari. The early hours offer the best game viewing and photographic opportunities. After an exciting morning of game viewing, we return to camp for a hearty brunch prepared by your chef followed by a siesta. At around 15h00 we depart for an afternoon game drive returning to camp at around 18h30 (or when the gates close, winter will be 17h30). Dinner prepared by your chef will be served at around 19h30.

Day 3: Kruger National Park (B/D)
An early morning wake-up with coffee or tea and homemade rusks before departing for the morning open vehicle safari. The early hours offer the best game-viewing and photographic opportunities. After an exciting morning of game viewing, we return to camp for a hearty brunch prepared by your chef followed by a siesta. At around 17h00 we board a Parks Board open vehicle for a night safari using spotlights to track the game. Return to camp at around 20h00 for a traditional South African braai (BBQ) prepared by your chef.

Day 4: Kruger National Park (B)
Another early morning game drive follows tea/coffee and homemade rusks. Breakfast is served back at camp before checkout and return to Hazyview arriving at around 12h00 (giving clients time to connect with the Johannesburg shuttle at 12h30 if required).

Hazyview Shuttle
Daily Shuttle service operating between Johannesburg and Hazyview/Protea Kruger Gate.

07h00 from Sandton Hotels
07h45 from Johannesburg International Airport (SATSA Members Lounge on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park)
The departure time from Hazyview is:
11h45 from Protea Hotel Kruger Gate
12h30 from Perry’s Bridge Trading Post (Hazyview)

As the shuttle only arrives back into Johannesburg at approximately 19h00, we recommend that clients do not book any connecting flights for the same day, however should this be necessary, not to book anything earlier than 20h00 as Thompsons cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our control.
